Bioactive metabolites of edible mushrooms efficacious against androgenic alopecia: Targeting SRD5A2 using computational approach

چکیده
Androgenic alopecia (AGA), scalp hair loss, occurs due to the hyperactivity of steroid 5α-reductase2 (SRD5A2), which metabolizes testosterone into 5α-dihydroxytestosterone. Finasteride, an FDA-approved drug producing many side effects, is a commonly used competitive inhibitor for SRD5A2 treat AGA. As number mushroom species have been patients having loss problems since ancient times, in present paper, bioactive metabolites mushrooms were computationally screened assess inhibitory properties and compared with Finasteride. A virtual screening approach conjunction molecular dynamics simulation MMPBSA methods has applied identify potential inhibitors against SRD5A2. SwissADME tool AutoDock Vina screen library 152 metabolites. All MD simulations carried out using GROMACS 5.1.4 suite GROMOS96 43a1 force field. The stability SRD5A-ligand complexes was determined terms RMSD, RMSF, Rg, SASA, hydrogen bonding. binding energy calculated MMPBSA. Virtual studies revealed that metabolites, three bioactives, i.e., Zhankuic acid (−11.5 kcal/mol), Sterenin M (−10.4 Melleolide K (−10.2 Finasteride least are These molecules also exhibited stable interaction during simulation. This study will pave way experimental evaluation validation medicinal potentials compounds androgenic alopecia.

Do Bioactive Carotenoids Contribute to the Color of Edible Mushrooms?
Carotenoids are biologically active phytochemicals present as micro-components in fruits and vegetables, being responsible for their yellow, orange and red colors. The chromatographic behavior and the UV absorption spectrum provided by HPLC-DAD analysis constitute the clues for their identification. Mushrooms are of increasing importance in modern nutrition and medicine, due to the presence of ...
متن کاملAntioxidants of Edible Mushrooms.
Oxidative stress caused by an imbalanced metabolism and an excess of reactive oxygen species (ROS) lead to a range of health disorders in humans. Our endogenous antioxidant defense mechanisms and our dietary intake of antioxidants potentially regulate our oxidative homeostasis. Numerous synthetic antioxidants can effectively improve defense mechanisms, but because of their adverse toxic effects...
متن کاملLectins from edible mushrooms.
Mushrooms are famous for their nutritional and medicinal values and also for the diversity of bioactive compounds they contain including lectins. The present review is an attempt to summarize and discuss data available on molecular weights, structures, biological properties, N-terminal sequences and possible applications of lectins from edible mushrooms. It further aims to update and discuss/ex...
متن کاملAntioxidant Properties of Edible Mushrooms
Antioxidants or molecules with radical scavenger capacity gained attention a few years ago because of their potential protective effect against free radical damage. Epidemiological studies have shown that a higher intake of these compounds is associated with lower risk of mortality from cancer and coronary heart disease. Recent scientific studies confirmed that many edible mushrooms, described ...
